Walk and talk with me.
You say you want to be the lonely dreamer
I can do that with a touch of my finger
And I don't mind, nothing to me at all

Cos I feel it, in the blood
And the blood will out.`

Results:
  • Hepatitus A / B / C : NOT FOUND
  • HIV : NOT FOUND
  • Ferrites : 280 down from over 450 parts per whatevah
  • Thyroid : ANOMALOUS
SO, all in all, very pleasing results apart from the thyroid.  Excellent news.  Further tests in 4 weeks.  I have been bloody impressed with the NHS, in all truth.

In other tests, it turns out I have the most cleverest blood group of all: A+

The council has finally sorted its paperwork out and is coming on the 1st August to fix my living room floor.  Today is the 3 month mark since I raised the problem with them.  Your tax pounds at work, oh yes.

Current status
Not hungover at all
Coffee in hand
Pondering curry for luncheon

Currently pissed off with:
Things at home, still.
Visual Studio 2005, still.
The government (take this as read until 2010)

There, that's me.

How are you?

  • Sis has savage cancer at age 39

  • Tests found no cancer but other weirdness

Hey, on the upside, you can now blame any weight problems on your thyroid.

Yes. Easy. Compared to Hepatitis C and HIV? by greyrat (4.00 / 1) #26 Fri Jul 25, 2008 at 01:18:39 PM EST
Easy Peasy. My ex had Grave's, my mom died from Hepatitis C and one of my former neighbors was HIV positive. So from my first hand experience comparing the conditions, the one surviving person had it pretty easy with a dodgy thyroid.

Your EX had Grave's. Is POSSIBLE that the Grave's has something to do with why she's your EX?

Interestingly, I have *never* chatted with her by greyrat (2.00 / 0) #43 Sun Jul 27, 2008 at 04:37:05 PM EST
late at night, when I'm in bed serving as msrat's bed warmer or mid-morning, when I'm usually up to my ass in meetings with the continent and sub-continent. And yes, I'm allowing for time differences. So just to up your paranoia level, she's probably chatting up someone else.

Unfortunately you now have to tick "Yes" to the "Have you ever had a HIV test" on an medical insurance forms, and see your premiums rise as a result.

Fuckers.

One swiss insurer was insisting on a HIV test for cover, which would of course immediately make everyone else more expensive.

If you fall ill (for whatever reason) in 2025, they will access your medical records for insurance.
If they find any lies at all - particulalrly about HIV or pre-existing conditions, they will deny you cover.

Or is that covered in some smallprint clause somewhere?

Can I ask that my medical records be destroyed I wonder?

[ Parent ]

Indeed by Phage (2.00 / 0) #18 Fri Jul 25, 2008 at 11:01:48 AM EST
In the contract it usually says that in the event of a claim, they may have access to your medical records.

They won't have to ask. They'll just do it.

Oh I know the govt. is saying at the moment that this would never be allowed to happen. But let's face it, once all this data is there it will just make sence to allow more and more people access without even telling us.

They've done it before.

I haven't given blood in 5 years. I used to give every couple of months. Now, with all the reports about the ARC blood banks.... not so much.

Actually, I don't think I've even seen a blood mobile in a couple of years.
